Digital learning

Explore digital skills at your own pace.

Teesside Bytes helps people explore learning opportunities using Cisco Networking Academy resources. Find a subject that interests you, then ask us about the available options.

Areas you could explore

We can discuss opportunities in areas such as networking, cybersecurity, programming and digital skills. These are examples of subject areas; the specific courses we can offer will be confirmed when you enquire.

Networking

Explore how computers and devices communicate, from network fundamentals to practical troubleshooting.

Cybersecurity

Learn about online safety, common security threats and the foundations of protecting digital systems.

Programming

Build confidence with coding concepts and practical problem-solving, including Python where available.

Digital skills

Develop useful technology skills for further study, work or everyday life.

Learning opportunities for the community

Whether you are just getting started, returning to learning or developing skills for work, we want to help you find a sensible starting point. Supporting people who face financial barriers to learning is an important aim of Teesside Bytes.

Access is discussed individually. We will explain any relevant age requirements, eligibility conditions or limits before anyone enrols; we cannot promise a particular course, place, qualification or certificate through an initial enquiry.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Explore an area of interest

Start with a subject you want to learn. The topics above are examples, not a confirmed course catalogue.

  2. Step 2

    Send an enquiry

Tell us your broad learning interests. A parent or carer should make the initial enquiry for anyone under 18.

  3. Step 3

    Discuss access and suitability

We will confirm which courses are available through our academy, any eligibility or age conditions, and how enrolment works.

  4. Step 4

    Study on Cisco’s platform

If a suitable option is available, access is arranged through our existing approved NetAcad workflow. Course materials and progress remain on Cisco’s platform.

Course access and costs

Cisco Networking Academy provides learning resources, including free options. We will confirm which courses are actually available through Teesside Bytes, what is free, and any conditions or costs before you decide to enrol.

Sending an enquiry does not commit you to a paid service.

Optional one-to-one tuition

Teesside Bytes also offers independent programming tuition and workshops. These are separate, potentially paid services and are not required to enquire about Cisco Networking Academy learning resources.

Ask about Academy learning

Tell us which broad subject interests you and, if useful, whether you are learning for personal interest, education or work. We will explain the next steps before any account is created.

For learners under 18, a parent or carer should enquire first. Please do not send a child's name, school, date of birth, home address, passwords or health information. This website does not create Cisco learner accounts.

Looking ahead

We hope to develop optional practical project opportunities so learners can apply their skills and build a portfolio. This is a future aim, not an existing placement or guaranteed part of a course.
